Sunday
27th June 2004
Hiiiaaaaaaooooooooooooo!
Well well well, long time no update. I could say it's all because of exams and
in some ways it is but I've been doing plenty else to prevent many updates so
blaming it all on education would be unfair. Anyway, here's some news from the
past 2 months, that you already know...
Gig summary
Most recently, BSP played Glastonbury Festival. This happened yesterday and I
hear it was mega good. Some songs will probably appear at BBC
6 Music so keep-a-checkin'!
Prior to this no doubt legendary performance, on the quiet BSP played to many
clever people on the 16th and 19th June. Yep, Oxford and Cambridge were
destroyed by Sea Power at University balls.
They also played the lovely Keele University on June 10th. Such an evening
looked set to put them up against the extreme force that is Girls Aloud.
The boys of Sea had to be careful not to become the sound of the underground,
taking no good advice from pessimists and making sure to jump into action,
meaning no ones' life got cold.
The Show was a good one indeed, with no Girls Aloud apparently in sight. Reports
tell us Noble had met a member of the vocal harmony group and said "you
freak me out" to which they got upset. Moving swiftly on......
Between these University excursions, BSP had made their first 2004 visit to
festival land. They played alongside such luminaries as The Stands and Jet at
the Isle Of Wight festival on June 12th. The set included new song 'Leaving
Here'...
...Which had been previously tested at another special show. Twas a re-enactment
of days of yore, Club Sea Power was briefly reborn kids! The show saw a new era
begin with new tracks 'Leaving Here', 'Mother', 'To Get To Sleep' and the
previously played 'How Animals Work'...much reworked it seems.
There was another specialty with the rarely played 'The Smallest Church In
Sussex' appearing amongst the brash live sound of Sea Power.
For future BSP dates, check the Gigs page.
DVD!
British Sea Power appear on the new Jools Holland DVD entitled 'Cool Britannia'.
The DVD features bands that come from Great Britain and 'Remember Me' was seen
as a fit addition to the collection. So buy it from Play.com
or somewhere else, if you like.
Pictures
Long ago, the great Mr Steele informed me that he'd been snapping again and the
wonderful results can be found at Broken
Windows. Folks from efesitvals were at the Isle Of Wight festival to take
some pictures of BSP, see them here.
Another EP
In addition to the recently released Japanese 'Remember Me' EP they'll
apparently be a 'Spirit Of St. Louis' EP released soon in the far east.
Great British press
BSP put together an article for The Independent. "The Ten Best Pastoral Pop
Songs" can be found here.
See! I haven't missed that much in the last 2 months.
I bid ye adieu for another while!
PS. Might update lots and lots in summer, fingers crossed!

One for the ladies (and gentlemen by all means!) this time round, which
member of BSP do you fancy most?
Yep, the imagination was running low...Cast your vote now and no fixing!

UK tour
Sounds as if the tour's going really well with 'A Wooden Horse' opening the set,
new song 'Chicken Pig' regularly appearing and the big bear making numerous
appearances.
In addition to the Edinburgh date, the band played an instore acoustic set at
Avalanche Records earlier in the day (17th).
Tracks played were: Out Of My Mind On Dope And Speed, Strange Communication,
Carrion, Moley & Me and Carrion.

A vacuum sound of horror
Tracks to appear on 'A Lovely Day Tomorrow', the very new and very
Czechoslovakian single by British Sea Power and The Ecstasy Of Saint Theresa
will be A Lovely Day Tomorrow, Zitra Bude Krasny Den (ALDT en Czech) and Fakir
(a Czech folk song - probably the one they played at the Seattle instore show)
The single will be released on British soil but there only be 1,942 copies of
the biggest gem since Danny La Rue sold his finest jewels at a Dorchester street
market sale. T'will be available from 17th April 2004, which is a Saturday.
For UK record buyers ,the single will be available on the upcoming UK
tour or on the official website. For the Czechoslovakian amongst you, you'll
find it in record stores across the country on behalf of Rough Trade Bohemia in
conjunction with EMI Czech Republic, what dames they be!
Don't forget! BSP play The Roxy in Prague on 8th April, which is a Thursday.
Seattle sounds, sumptuous songs, storming sights!
In this fine, fine world of sibilance you may hear the recent Seattle instore show
and Crocodile Cafe gig by taking a trip to the multimedic Salty
Water (a so fresh, so clean BSP fansite, better pull me socks up!) or Soulseek where it's
sure to be floating
around.
New songs performed on the US tour are 'Chicken Pig' and 'Elegiac Stanzas'.
In
case you don't know, another "new" song is 'How Animals Work' but they
don't appear to playing that one.
Some American tour pictures can be found on this
forum thread.
Some Japanese pictures
too!
On a fricative note, I have some great pictures from Los Angeles sent by Ally.
These 3 were taken on the 29th of Fevrier at The Echo in Los Angeles To see,
aaaaand here.
Looks fucking fabulous!
Whatever's next, comes easily...
BSP will play a show at Seaclose Park, Newport on Saturday 12th June as part of
the Isle Of Wight Festival 2004. They'll be alongside such luminaries as The Who
and the Manic Street Preachers, bon bon.

KEXP Session
On Tuesday the world was treated to a lovely acoustic BSP session on Seattle
station KEXP. The band seemed tiresome in conversation but the music was superb
as usual.
The tracks played were 'Childhood Memories', 'Salty Water' and 'Good Good Boys'.
To download the session in mp3 format visit Salty
Water, thanks to James Sui.
Prague
Looks as if the long awaited Prague concert is confirmed, it'll take place on
April 8th at The Roxy with The Ecstasy of Saint Theresa in support.

Congratulations to Mary Svrjcek who has won the
Christmas competition.
Second prize goes to Michael Wright and third to Jonathan
Osbourne.
The five runners up are Roberta Maya, Andy
Lacey, Martin (M&K email) , Vera

Thanks to all 59 of you who entered the competition and sorry for the day's
delay!
Prague and 'A Lovely Day Tomorrow'
BSP hope to play Prague Roxy on the 8th April with Czech band The Ecstasy Of
Saint Theresa. The show isn't confirmed yet so hold on for confirmation.
As well as the long awaited Prague show, BSP will definitely be releasing a new,
Czechoslovakian, limited edition single.
It will be a new, harder version of 'A Lovely Day Tomorrow' which originally
appeared on the initial 'Remember Me' release and recently found it's way back
into the live set.
The single will feature a Czech and English version of the track with TEOST's
Katerina Winterova on vocal duties.
Sunday
1st February 2004
Competition
The competition is now closed, all entries sent from now on will not go in the
cloth cap.
The draw will be made on Wednesday the 4th so keep you peepers peeled, prizes
could be on their way to you.
New album
BSP are holed up in a country house writing songs for the next album, I hear
all's going well and the band are hoping to try them out on the forthcoming US
and UK tours.
Concerts
Since the last update, the US concert dates have been confirmed. A few Dutch
dates have been added as well as the rescheduled High Wycombe gig, see the Gigs
page for all the latest.

New Year
Hello there! It appears I am back in action after a month away from website
duties and I come back to a year which should be the year of the redesigned
website and continued success for yours and my favourite band, British Sea
Power.
While we're on the subject of the redesigned site, it's still coming along
nicely, I've worked on it a wee bit in the past few days but not today as I went
climbing trees and walking in the middle of nowhere.
If you have any pictures, please send them in now as it'll be one of the
hardest/most tedious pages to make, email.
Anyway, hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and thanks to all
who visit and contribute, your help is much appreciated.
Official site
Unfortunately it's down at the moment which means we get considerably less
visits, I have no idea why it's down but let's hope it's back soon.
US Tour
New dates added to the Gigs page. Dates from Pitchfork
so can't be absolutely sure but expect them to be correct, exact SXSW date
unconfirmed.
Some old Dutch dates have been added to the gigography too, thanks to kevo and
specialist on the forum.
Meek
A little birdy tells me there's a show about the great Joe Meek and Telstar
tonight, Radio 2 at 10pm - LISTEN!
Christmas competition
I've had a startling response so far, thanks to all who've entered.

We are 2!
A Lovely Day Tomorrow is 2 years old today. Thanks to all who've made it
possible for the site to run thus far and make sure to keep supporting it.
Competition
Worry not, the competition has not been forgotten or abandoned. I haven't received
all the prizes yet so I don't want to promise things that aren't for sure,
that's only sensible.
Should be ready over the festive season.
UK Tour
Since the last update the busiest band in Britain have organised yet another
tour.
It will take place in April 2004 and will see the band play their biggest ever
headline show at London Shepherds Bush Empire.
See the Gigs page for full dates, destinations and numbers.
Photos
To make up for the missing competition here's some lovely photos taken at
Newport Le Pub on 21st June and Cardiff Clwb Ifor Bach on 22 November.
All photos were taken by Josephine Townsend and to see them click here.
Redesign
Over the past couple of weeks there's been plenty of work put into the
redesigned site which is coming along nicely so it shouldn't be too much longer
before we say goodbye to navy blue.

UK Tour
Saw the Warwick gig last Sunday, twas a wonderful show and a fitting end to the
tour with Noble climbing anything possible and the great big bear on parade.
The band are on a brief arena tour with The Strokes right now and apparently
things are going swimmingly which is just ruddy splendid.
Lamacq
Mr. Lamacq and BBC 6 Music were at the Warwick gig recording Snowfield, The
Killers and British Sea Power's performances. Apparently he'll only play a
couple of tracks from each band which is extremely disappointing but make sure
to give it a listen anyway, it's at 1pm this Saturday. Link.
NME
News of Hamilton's wrist breaking in this weeks edition but more importantly
there's a full page ad' for all things BSP that would look quite spiffing on any
boy or girls wall.
Birthday/Christmas competition!
Yes! Good good news for good good people!
Next week I'll be setting a competition because it's about time for one, it's
Christmas - the time to give and the site'll be 2 years old in a couple of
weeks.
Make sure you come back to have a look and enter to win many BSP goodies,
multiple winners n'all!!!
If you can donate any prizes please get
in touch.

X-Ray
Have been emailed by the people at X-Ray magazine who tell me BSP will appear on
their December issue cover CD, an exclusive 'Carrion' XFM session track they
say.
The new magazine will be out tomorrow so make sure to buy.
No Belfast gig
The Strokes have announced a gig on November 30th taking place in Belfast.
Although BSP will be supporting on forthcoming dates they will not be
playing this one as it is the night of Warwick.
Failures In The Beech Trees
Hamilton is suffering from a sprained wrist he picked up while pruning a
Copper Beech for the stage decor and cutting down the branch he was hanging on.
Sound man Joe will be standing in on bass playing duties for (possibly) the rest
of the tour, Hamilton should be back for The Strokes dates.
Just in case you didn't know, the High Wycombe gig was cancelled as a
consequence but should be rescheduled for 2004.
Friday
21st November 2003

Nottingham and the boys were on marvellous form as usual and Eamon's looking

Life' in the NME's latest scam. UK tour support act The Killers are also on CD1.
Best Bands Of 2004

More information here.
New Poll
Something new for you to vote on seeing as the old one is pointless now!
'Blackout' came first and 'Remember Me' rerecorded
came second so we almost reflected the band's decision! Unfortunately the poll's
lost so the archived result isn't around.
I think I've covered just about everything that's happened since the last update
so au revoir for now!

Remember Me
Made it to number 30 in the UK chart and number 3 in the indie chart, very well
done to the boys and thanks to all those who bought it.

its bandwidth limit so it's offline but here's another site with mp3's - Citizen

The shop page has been stripped down to ze bare minimal because it was all wrong

The shop page will reappear in full when the redesigned site is uploaded, this
is still a while away!
Sorry for the outdated pages (Discography, Press etc.) but I really can't see
the use in making new pages for an old site and adding links to articles on the

WFMU Session
In the early hours of the morning (in Britain) BSP were on internet radio
performing a live session and it was bloody amazing.
They played: Fear Of Drowning, Apologies To Insect Life, Childhood Memories,
Remember Me, Blackout & Carrion.
It was probably their best session yet and I'm sorry I didn't inform you of it
happening but they might archive it and I do have a good recording of it so if I
get enough webspace etc. it'll be made available on here.
For now, see if anything happens here.
Irving Plaza
Due to the American blackout last week the Irving Plaza show was cancelled, I'm
not sure about the other shows but I know this one was cancelled. Well anyway,
it MIGHT have been rescheduled for tonight, it's unconfirmed but on WFMU they
said so. Sorry I can't confirm it's correct.

for the second album in the next few months, the album should feature the single
'How Animals Work'.
Rough Trade compilation
BSP's version of Galaxie 500's 'Tugboat' will appear on the Rough Trade 25th
anniversary compilation CD, I'm not sure when this'll be released.
Remember Me b-sides
Wondering what the forthcoming single will bring you in the shape of b-sides?
Here's a few ideas...
1) Yan & Hamilton's Father reciting a
story/poem over a pump organ played by Hamilton in the style of John Betjeman's accompanied poems
2) Cover of 'Out Of My Mind On Dope and Speed' by Julian Cope
3) Good Good Boys
4) Major Machine
5) North Hanging Rock
6) Bass Rock
& others.
Redesigned site
It's on the way with all new content and such, I hope it's all done within 3
weeks but we'll see.
Sunday 27th July 2003
I've been away for a week so I've fallen behind in all things BSP, here's all
the news that came in while I was away - some of it you will already know, some
you may not....
Remember Me
The next single released on the 6th October 2003 will be the rerecorded version
of Remember Me. It will be released on CD & limited 7" vinyl (2,005
copies) and one of the B-sides may be Hamilton's new song 'Good, Good Boys'.
The limited vinyl will be individually named just like the Carrion vinyl, but
this time with people who have done deeds large or small for the band.
Suggestions should be sent to britishseapower@hotmail.com
(subject: Remember Me) with an explanatory
note of a maximum of 50 words.
The next new single (after Remember Me) will be released in January 2004 and
will be a new song.
A Lovely Day In Czechoslovakia
The Czechoslovakian single of 'A Lovely Day Tomorrow' will be sung in
Czech with the help of Czech band The Ecstasy of Therasa 2003, the band also
plan to do a concert in Prague.
Julian Cope
It is hoped BSP will record some new songs in collaboration with Julian Cope,
more on this whenever it happens.
Camp
Sea Power
Will be happening in the summer of 2004
Festival Of The Sea 2005
BSP have been asked to perform at this special event taking place at The
National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. Other guests will include David Seaman,
Ellen McArthur and Rick Stein, more about this on BSP Newsletter number 14.
A little more information can be found here.
Baraka
The BSP soundtrack to Baraka will be performed at Leeds Festival, it was first
performed at the ICA in London last year and should be a spectacular spectacle
so make sure to make a bootleg of it!
Teachers
The music of BSP will be used in the new series of the channel 4 show
'Teachers'. Childhood Memories will be used in 2 scenes of the show, these will
be 'Kurt Makes Tea For Everyone Except Brian' and 'Simon Is Accused Of Losing
Essays'.
Carrion Swap Shop
Has been updated, if you still haven't added yours make sure to and prepare
yourselves for the Remember Me swap shop, bet you didn't see that one coming!

BSP will be here too on Saturday 19th July I believe.
There's a couple more new dates on the official sites Concerts pages at the
momenté, I will update this sites Gigs page shortly.
XFM
BSP will be live in session on 'The Works' tomorrow between 9pm & 11pm.
Thanks to Gary for the news.
NME
BSP appear in this weeks NME (Polyspree cover) with a dazzling single review, a
big advert for the forthcoming single, a brief interview with Noble concerning
tours and a picture on the letters page, good good.
No more press for the time being.
New site & competition
The redesigned and generally improved site is on it's way. Progress is poor to
middling but sure if slow all the same.
When the new site appears they'll be a lovely new competition, I can't confirm
the prize yet but it looks like I might have a couple of things to give away
which is fantastique.

BBC 6 Music
Wasn't the BBC session just wonderful? Have recorded all the shenanigans and
will hopefully upload soon, I'm sure you can hear it somewhere on BBC
6 Music so go and have a gander if you missed it.
BSP also performed 'Carrion' at Maida Vale and *should* be broadcast on Gideon
Coe's show soon. If not a regular listener to Mr. Coe (me too....) I suggest
you click on his name every day to see if BSP are listed in his 'Listen again'
list.
Virgin Session
I missed it but never fear! Should have all of the Virgin radio sessions
soonish including their second appearance I managed to miss a while back.
92
Was the second week position for The Decline Of British Sea Power.
Carrion Swap Shop
I can't believe this idea made it's way to the official forum but I've had it
planned for a wee while now (honestly!) and it will be happening.

Still no big festival confirmation but they may support Roxy Music at Hyde Park

Live Sessions
Thanks very much to to Gary Barrett for the following update.
BSP will appear on BBC 6 Music on Saturday
(tomorrow) between 1pm & 4pm
in session for Steve Lamacq, not sure what they'll play. For more go here
The Virgin Session will also be aired this weekend on Sunday
between 7pm & 10pm,
they'll be playing acoustic versions of Blackout & a cover of Out Of My Mind
On Dope & Speed, there may also be an interview/chat with the band. For more
go here.
Apparently they'll appear in the last hour of the BBC show and most likely the
first hour of the Virgin show.
XFM Music:Response
Vote for BSP in the poll here
(I think it might actually be finished now)
As far as I know BSP won, keep an eye on the page to see where they are in the
chart.
Word magazine
BSP are in the July issue with an album review & Scilly Isles feature.
New poll (& audio soon)
Inspired by the thread on the forum asking what the next single should be after
Carrion (released October/November time) I've set up a new poll to see what the
fans think, there are 10 options, hope yours is there.
Thanks to all those who voted on the favourite fruit poll, the winner was apple
but only just, strawberry and banana both came close.
Expect audio soon, most likely when the new look sets in, should have some
lovely live tracks if the hosts don't delete my account again.
Wednesday
11th June 2003
XFM Session
BSP should be doing an XFM session soon, The Decline Of British Sea Power is
XFM's album of the week.
BBC 6 Music
BSP will be recording a live session for Steve Lamacq on Saturday, don't know
when it'll be aired yet.
Still not sure when the Virgin Radio acoustic session will be aired, hope I
don't miss it again.

Keep forgetting to link to http://www.brokenwindows.org

Thanks to all those who came to the site last week, it was the best week we've
had.

As the links aren't being updated until the new look comes in and seeing as this

54
The Decline Of British Sea Power has got to number 54 in the album charts, this
is a fine achievement but I can't help feel it could have been better, I've
heard so many stories of places being sold out and vinyl shortages, the demand
seemed to be higher than the shops anticipated.
Keep buying the album and make sure we get the single into the top 40 in a few weeks time.
Reviews
The album got 4 out of 5 in Q and 4 and a half out 5 in The Fly + a review of
the Northampton gig which isn't so good. (Thanks to Adam Gardener)

Sales
The Decline Of British Sea Power has sold well thanks to mass buying, superb
reviews all round and having lots of lovely fans who nag their friends to buy it
too!
Anyway, the midweek chart put them in 43rd position (23rd on Amazon) and the
band hope they can get in the top 40, what an achievement that would be.
No more news on the chart position until Sunday.
Festivals
BSP's festival plans will be officially revealed soon.
Press
The band are in this weeks NME in the Burn It
section compiling their perfect CD. They're in the latest X-Ray
3 times. There's an article about their style, a great live review and a
slightly disappointing album review but nevermind.
The latest Uncut features an album review in which
it recieves 4 out of 5.
On June 8th there will be a feature in The
Times concerning BSP's Scilly Isles performance so make sure to buy it.
BSP should be featured in the next issue of MOJO
too.
If you have anymore news of BSP in the press make sure to email and if anyone
has the latest Q Magazine please tell me if there's
a review inside, it's in a bag this month and I can't get in!!!
Expect all this to be added in the very near future, I have so much stuff to
add.
Virgin Radio Acoustic session
BSP are to make their 3rd appearance on the Pete and Geoff show on SUNDAY
between 7pm & 10pm.
The band will be interviewed and perform acoustic versions of 'Blackout'
and Julian Cope's 'Out Of My Mind On Dope And Speed' so make sure to be
listening via their
website.
If you don't manage to hear it I should be able to record it so don't worry, it
won't be lost forever!
This very website
Expect changes soon, a new look is on the way, the site will become more orderly
and there's a lot of content to be added namely press, pictures and hopefully
the return of BSP audio which would be nice wouldn't it?
Ceefax
Someone mentions BSP on the page where they talk about music (p561) and pleads
that The Spirit Of St. Louis should have made it on to the album (boring!). Just
saw it so I thought I'd mention it. Talking teletext, channel 4 text gives the
album a shite review, the bastards.

It's coming to a close with only 5 dates remaining and then comes the album on
June 2nd. Make sure to go out and buy it, request the single on radio, ask to
hear it out loud in shops so people will ask "here, here! what's this
wonderful music you're playing" to the clerk of your local record store and
he will tell them, and they will buy it. Good good.

It kicks off tonight in Northampton at the Soundhaus. If you're off to any of
the UK tour gigs make sure to send setlists and any pictures you've taken.
Speaking of gigs and pictures, here's one
from the Isles Of Scilly gig. Thanks to Andy Barding. A great report of the
Scillonian adventure can be found here.
Competition
Will run until the end of May, all details on the Competition page. All entries
so far correct.
NME
A new ad for the UK tour is appeared in NME this week (The Music cover). There
was also a review of the album launch gig BSP did the The Ram Inn in Firle, East
Sussex. Another review of that gig can be found here.
Expect the NME review and christ knows how many other articles to be added
someday!

Expect to see BSP in X-ray, Bang, Mojo and The Times soon.
You may also catch the video for 'Carrion' on MTV2.
Merchandise
New T-shirts and patches should be on sale during the tour. BSP are also
planning to brew their own beer for sale on the tour and of course there will be
the much talked about BSP clothing range designed by The Patrick Mooreheads. The
range will be launched at the London gig (15th May) methinks.

Press
BSP are spoken of in the new NME (Coldplay cover) for being great pals with
Interpol, it's in that little gossip bit in the news section (you know what I
mean) and just to clear things up, the BSP UK tour ad was in last week (Hot Hot
Heat cover), not the new one.
BSP also appear in the new issue of X-Ray magazine (Dandy Warhols cover #4).
There's a review of Carrion, it gets 4 out of 5 from the right honourable Andy
Barding. The score of 4 puts them in the prestigious position of equal 2nd best single
of the month with a few others including Dizzie Rascal and the 80's Matchbox hoo-ha, just behind The White Stripes who got 5...the bastards.
BSP also get a mention in X-Ray's SXSW round up. Mr Barding seemed to get
positive vibes from their performance and gave them a nice little review + a
picture of Yan, lovely.
NO SILLY, NO BRIGHTON. BUT YES SCILLY!
Sorry for the confusing title but it's trying to get the message across that
there will be no secret gig in Brighton just yet. There will however be a gig on
the Isles Of Scilly. It will take place on 9th May
at the Scillonian club but I'm sure you already
knew that. Anyway, for more on this special occasion see the official BSP news
page here.
All those news updates will be added to the Newsletter list soon. If you fancy
the trip click here for

Competition
Yes! A new ALDT competition at last. Not really a proper one as such, just one
to pass the time. The prize is : A tape with BSP material
which is well worth having. By tape I mean
audio cassette and the material will be allsorts of stuff including live
performances and who knows what else. Either way you're not likely to have it
already.
To enter this wonderful little competition which will run until sometime
in May you need to answer the following
question...
Which superhero comic features a character called
'Carrion'?
The character has nothing to do with the song, it's just coincidence, do
a little clever searching and you'll find it no problem.
Anyway, enter by clicking here.
Send your name, country you live in and answer.

according to the mods on the board it was a personal problem that had to be
sorted out. See the forum here.

It looks like they'll play:

excellent fanzine 'Garde Bien'. If you don't have the first issue make sure to email

Anyway, down the side of this update there should be a lovely picture to
encourage you even more, it's very large though so I'll move it in a few days,
it will go on either the press page or I could fill the Desktop page with it.

Sorry for the lack of updates recently, coming up for closing stages of the

BSP on TV
BSP have been featured on the 'Brighton Beats' programme on ITV Meridian,
unfortunately I don't get Meridian so can't comment on the show, not sure if
there's any more shows left.
If anyone could send a tape of the show make sure to email
me.

Euro Tour
Haven't managed to find any reviews so far, the Interpol forum doesn't

The band are currently on a 2 day break, they'll play Berlin on the 31st March.

Forthcoming
The weather is bright tonight but the release schedule is.......shite. BSP's
next single is still a long long way a way, 12th of May to be precise. The UK
tour will commence around then too and last for 3 to 4 weeks. Album 2nd Juneish
at the end of the tour.
SXSW
Plenty going on on the BSP forum at the moment especially when it comes to BSP's
USA visit. Yan is called an 'asshole' for knocking over ladies, it's questioned
whether Noble's chair throwing antics were just a little OTT and plenty more.
Find the forum here
An organiser told the boys the show was a "legendary SXSW show and
won't be forgotten."
See a little review here
and then head to Playlouder
where there's a 3 part guide to SXSW. Parts 2 & 3 are most relevant
especially part 3, you will laugh and laugh.
New poll
Well, I didn't have a clue what to do when it came to a new poll, I just knew I
had to do one because the other one was starting to get pretty crap.
So, in similar vein to the 'favourite sauce' poll the site is now aiming to find
BSP fans favourite fruit, sorry if the one you love isn't there, there's always
the 'Other' option for you folks.

South By Southwest
It seems BSP ended up doing two performances in Texas. Official update on all
things stateside can be found here.
There's a couple more posts about BSP in Texas if you look around on the forum.
Talking of forums, there's plenty of talk about BSP on Interpol's own, positive
stuff. Find it at http://www.interpolny.com
Carrion
After all the carry-on (...kill me now!) over the name it's been decided
that the name will stay as "Carrion", definitely a good decision.
Anyway, the covers are based on the book 'The House Of The Dead' by Fyodor
Dostoevsky and just in case you're wondering 'Childhood Memories' was based on
'Wildlife Of Britain' by F Fraser Darling.
The single will be out in May on 2 CD's & a 7".

Carrion
Finally there is news of the next BSP single, a double a-side in fact. There will be 2 CD's and the tracklists are:
CD1
1) Carrion (Alternative Mix)
2) Apologies To Insect Life
3) Heavenly Waters
CD2
1) Carrion (Single Mix)
2) Russian Rock (Apologies To Insect Life) (Instrumental Demo)
3) Alberts Eyes
The single will be released in May, on the 5th or 12th, more likely the 12th. The album will
appear in late May.
Interpol tour
Interpol's official website states BSP will be supporting on the 3 TBC dates but
the band are still unsure whether this is correct.
UK Tour
There will be a UK tour in May, it should start on the 1st and last for about 2
weeks.
Lyrics
Expect some new lyrics to be added tomorrow. Carrion, Apologies... and Blackout
will all appear. There should also be a Fear Of Drowning (Live at Bizarre
Festival) MP3 available tomorrow. Also, if anyone managed to get pictures at the
Sheffield Libertines gig make sure to send them in and for all those European
snappers, prepare your cameras!

We're back!
Hello, sorry haven't updated for a long long time but graphics coursework etc.
must come first, not too much news on the BSP front anyway.
European Tour
BSP are to support Interpol on a European tour, there are no UK dates but
the tour sees them travel across France, Germany, Scandinavia, Spain and several
other places.
As the Gigs page hasn't been updated yet, see the full list of dates here.
BSP also play South by South West in Austin, Texas on 13th March.
BSP Album & headline tour
According to BSP on the official forum, the album will appear in May 2003 with
UK dates. The album has now been completed.

The winner is...
Mark Spry! Well done to Mark who has won the 'Childhood Memories' video
competition.
The answer was of course 'The Official Fleet Reserve'. Thanks to all who
entered.
No idea when a new competition will appear but an album related comp. would be
very nice indeed.
The Bird Brigade
Some lovely pictures of Andrew Fenwick's experience with BSP in London can be
found here
including the amazing Wood in a fridge! Expect a full report from Andy soon.
See some more pics of London (I think) here.
All the tour pics + others I have will hopefully appear on the site soon enough.
Playlouder
Review of Bristol show can be found here.
If you're wondering when the Press page will be sorted the answer is, I have no
idea! I think I have a week off in about a fortnight so will honestly try to get
it all sorted as well as some audio which may have to run on a 2 mp3's a week
basis or something.
There's also a review in NME (The Shatsuns on cover). It's very short and kinda
makes out BSP were good but it doesn't matter because the Flips were great.
There's also a tiny pic of Eamon.
Another review here,
although barely anything about BSP.
Album
Carrion is now complete and "sounds great". The single should be out
in about 6 weeks, not sure about the album release but more info should be
coming very soon.

The tour
It seems to be going very well and doing BSP a lot of good with new fans
all over the place, a boost in visitor amounts and many postings on the BSP
forum plus a few on our message board shows that popularity is up.. The most
useful post on the forum can be found here,
it seems BSP have now picked up the support of Badly Drawn Boy and a UK tour
support slot might just happen....
Also BSP have been playing a new track called 'Heavenly Waters' as the first
track I think.
Haven't found any reviews yet (only a lousy one...) but do have a couple of
picture links.
Go here for
Birmingham and here
for Manchester.
That's about all I have for now....
A Matter Of Life And Death
In case anyone is still wondering what the short film at the start of the set
is, it's A Matter Of Life And Death. If you want to buy it on DVD go here
though you might be able to find it cheaper elsewhere.
NME
In lasts weeks issue of the NME there was a harsh summary of BSP's year,
criticising them for taking their time with the album and claiming The
Libertines are better than them even though they gave their album about 6.
Competition
Will make the draw sometime this week.
Wednesday

Playlouder is Jimmy Saville!
BSP appear yet again on Playlouder. Remember the 'Design a uniform'
competition a while back? Well, the winner was Andrew Fenwick with his 'Bird
Brigade' design and he's set to play in his uniform with BSP as they perform
'Lately' at the London Kentish Town Forum on 22nd January, supporting the
Flaming Lips. To read the piece click here
Also, if you want to see the brilliant uniform he designed click here,

Flaming Lips
BSP are to support the Flaming
Lips from 15th-22nd January on a UK tour, this is pretty big news for BSP
and should certainly see their profile raised with a band who share similarities
to them, expect masks and costumes aplenty.
For all the dates see the Gigs page (hope you like
the wonderfully bright background) and read the special newsletter sent out
today here.

To all who visit, hope you have a happy 2003, let's hope this is the year of Sea
Power.
Updates to the site are still ongoing, you can find loads of new online articles
in a message I posted on the Message Board and the Shop page has been updated at
last.
I have plenty of pictures to sort through which should appear soon, the audio
page looks a little in jeopardy for now, if anyone wants to send donations for
webspace feel free!
The Band page has been updated with help for those struggling to find the answer
for the competition. The Desktop page should have some content soon, the Press
page is being sorted out, for now see the Message Board for the latest articles.
There should be more lyrics soon and hopefully a few more tabs/chords. Expect
individual gig pages soon with flyers and the like. The Discography will soon
feature a Videography as well as Song pages and the Poll has been a complete
shambles going in favour of Wood.

The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster
BSP have, for the second time been featured in NME's "Burn It"
section, last time it was Interpol featuring 'The Lonely', this time it's The
Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster who choose 'The Spirit Of St. Louis' saying
"Gr8 mates - gr8 album - gr8 gigs - gr8 stuffed kestrels and
shrubbery" - great!

This gives you the opportunity to see what you'll be missing out on if you don't
enter the competition....(If the prize doesn't change....)
Brighton gig
If anyone knows anything about a gig in Brighton in December then make sure to
get in touch, there's rumour they'll play the Freebutt and Noble has mentioned a

Pictures
The picture pages are ready to view right now, hosted on a different place to
the rest of the site so it may be a little slow and there are pop-up adverts but
it should be worth it.
Tried it on school's broadband connection and all 20 pictures came up in no
time.
Still more to add from London dates and Paris.
Updates
The newly added Desktop page currently has no content but will soon
There's a new poll for you all to vote on.
Might be ages before audio comes back at the rate I'm going. Might have to pay
to get hosting....
Press page is a bit of a mess at the moment, no interviews on the site at the
moment, the site is basically in the middle of being sorted out.
