It's tonight at the Free Butt, first of the year.
Work going on
There is stuff being done to the site today, mainly the articles page being spread out completely and everything being sorted out but it'll take a while which means I'll upload it later and they'll hopefully be quite a lot of change.

Evening Session
The Introducing feature on BSP on the Evening Session was on last night at about 9:30pm, unfortunately I missed it.
Steve Lamacq said they were the new Smiths which is excellent, hopefully the profile of the bands been upped even more now. If the feature is made available on the Radio 1 website I'll tell you
MP3 a day
Yup, don't forget it continues today. On offer today is the single version of 'A Wooden Horse' so go to the Audio & Video page to download it now.
Gig Updates
Rock the Abbey (Titchfield Festival) is now on 15th June rather than 2nd June.
Also, the link to get tickets to the New to Q show has now been added to the gigs page.
New Webspace
Have no fear for the future of the website, I have struck a deal for free which sees me getting 50Mb extra webspace with no adverts! The small changes will be made soon with all the pics using the new webspace and maybe I'll put the mp3 of the 15.03.02 Amsterdam show up on the site for download.
If you'd really, really like me to put the mp3 up for download, email me saying how much you want me to do it! I need convincing...

Tuesday 26th March 2002
MP3 a day
Go go go to the Audio & Video page and download 'Fear Of Drowning', if the link doesn't work, email me and I'll (try to..) sort it out. If it does work and you have a happy, working version of the track, email me with congratulations. Also for those who haven't realised, there's new pictures in the Picture section.

Late Monday 25th March 2002
Bugs
Struggling for webspace again by the looks of it as I had trouble uploading the new pictures but after deleting loads of stuff they uploaded easily. Whether I'll be able to fit an MP3 on tomorrow is unknown but I'll just have to wait and see. The problems will be sorted as I'm going to use a different host for the picture section (and any other similar sections with things that take up more space e.g. Audio/Video) so don't worry, the site won't die the death, not yet at least.

Monday 25th March 2002
MP3 a day!
Here ye, here ye! The magnificent offer of an MP3 a day will be here tomorrow (webspace allowing, if there's any cock ups I'll report them to you)
Come tomorrow from about 10am to be safe and download 'Fear Of Drowning', all the details on the new Audio/Video (which will be here tomorrow before 10am) page. Nevermind details for now, just make sure you come and download it, it's only available for a day.

Sunday 24th March 2002
Easter
Right, they'll be no MP3 a day offer over the holiday starting tomorrow but that doesn't mean it won't come. The competition's also been held back. Between March 30th when BSP have finished recording and the Six By Seven tour all will be negotiated and sorted out. So, in conclusion all will be coming but not just yet. Back to this Easter though, over the next 2 weeks the site will be finished I can guarantee you. I might put some kinda checklist on the Site Info page to tell you what's coming but I don't know about that yet, there will be a lot of updates though as well as new pages so come back each day and there should be updates. Here's some help with all updates though, they could come at any time during the holiday but for future reference, updates usually come between 6pm and 9pm so that's a good time to come.
1000 visits old
I failed to mention the fact that this site has had 1000 visitors since it started on December 15th. I think it reached 1000 last week but I'm not completely sure. Now it's over 1100 so it's moving pretty quickly. Thanks to all those who've come since the site first started, popularity seems to increase all the time, this week's seen the highest number of visits yet so thanks very much and keep on coming, especially over the busy Easter period.
More pics
More pics will be added tomorrow by Emma Porter who's given me permission to use her pics from the Trail Of Dead show in February

Saturday 23rd March 2002
Easter
The great easter offer looks like it may be held back now..I don't know yet, update you on that in a bit, but I can guarantee you the site will still be great over the holiday with new updates and new pages, thus completing the site at last!
Shop
The first of the great new pages is here. It's the shop where you can look at BSP merchandise and there's also a fantastic internet record store guide telling you what all the shops are stocking at the moment. Any more ideas for the shop section? Then tell me
Late update
For all those late night / early morning people, at 23:20 I've uploaded a bunch of new pics, go look now! Still no word on the easter events, you'll have yourself a little guide tomorrow.

Friday 22nd March 2002
Upcoming articles in Q
This months Q (Strokes on cover) features BSP as part of a 'Bands in uniform' feature. The following month, 'The Lonely' (Radio edit) should feature on a cover mounted CD.
Rough Nite
Twas Hamilton DJing last night according to BSP
Recording
"Recording is going fine" according to the band. The tracks - Lately and album versions of Remember Me, Fear Of Drowning and A Wooden Horse are being recorded.
Juliet Isis pics
A whole bunch of pics from London Calling by Juliet Isis (will...) have been added (...later) to the existing amount of 3. Thanks very much for these pics, they're very very good. A note to everyone - If you have any pics of BSP in any way please send them in, you'll be fully credited, appreciated and thanked.
Easter Egg-stravaganza! (Sorry for that..it really was terrible...)
Next week will see this site on top form for Easter with the offer of an MP3 a day for 2 weeks and a competition! More news on all the happenings tomorrow or Sunday, Easter sure will be good!

Thursday 21st March 2002
Rough Nite DJ's
Tonight at Cherry Jam at 58 Porchester Road London W2, British Sea Power will be djing at the all new Rough Nite which will run regularly at Cherry Jam. Tonight it's The Bees (they played at London Calling and are very good) and support comes from Capitol K with Reflex Sound System as the other DJ's. Get all the info about Rough Nite right here
Q Tickets
After yesterday's update about the Q gig I have now been emailed from none other than Nick Levine (You wanted crediting, you have been my friend) who has found that tickets for all the shows are already available (sorry to Q if this is what you're sending me next week) It was claimed they'd be available next week but it seems they're here already.
Go to http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/user/?region=uk&query=detail&event=25568 to go order your tickets now.
Yahoo group
In case you don't know, Nick runs the BSP yahoo group. Go look at it here and join as it looks like he's trying to update it again!

Wednesday 20th March 2002
An A Lovely Day Tomorrow exclusive (well...kind of!), at the bottom of todays news!
Evening Session
It was on at about 21:25 GMT. He played 'The Spirit Of St. Louis' all was good, shame he didn't say much about it but nevermind, at least it's been aired now and I don't have to go on about it week after week. In other press related news, the band aren't in the NME this week.
Official Site
There is now a page about The Official Brighton & Hove 2002 Contemporary Music Scene. I'm not sure if this is some kind of spoof (especially the form at the bottom)
Also the official site shows that...
The Lonely has a new release date
Yup, and it's not all nice and bought forward, it's been held back. From April 8th the date is now April 22nd so you'll have to wait a bit longer for the latest addition to your CD collection.
New to  gigs!
Right! I've received an e-mail from the editor of Q4Music.com, (Q magazine's official site) asking to advertise, or maybe tell you is a better phrase to use, the New to Q gigs (1 show features BSP) taking place soon. So, being the kind webmaster I am, here's all the details and 'sometime next week' you'll have the opportunity to get your hands on the tickets before anyone else (I've been told) so there's my little intro, here's all the info...
New to Q is to showcase artists who are fresh to the pages of Britain's Biggest Music Magazine (that being Q of course...)
Over five nights at the end of April and beginning of May, the Shepherds Bush Empire in London will reverberate to the sounds of artists that have been championed within the hallowed pages of Q magazine, including British Sea Power of course.
I must say, the line ups for each night are very good, here they are children...

Sunday 28th April : Ed Harcourt, Alfie, Athlete, Lorien
Monday 29th April : Tom McRae, Mull Historical Society (special acoustic set), Josh Rouse, Ben Christophers, Gemma Hayes
Tuesday 30th April : Kosheen, Simian, Dot Allison, Telepopmusik, Alison
Goldfrapp
Wednesday 1st May : Cooper Temple Clause, Electric Soft Parade, Minuteman, >>> British Sea Power <<<
Thursday 2nd May : "Detroitus" - The White Stripes, The Dirtbombs, The Von Bondies.

So there you go, 5 nights of quality music coming soon courtesy of Q, they're all at the Shepherds Bush Empire in case you didn't look above the line up in haste.
And in the words of Q4Music's editor Martin O'Gorman - "What we'll do is early next week, we'll send you another message letting you know when the tickets are to go on sale and pop you over a link that you can give to your users to let them get "first dibs" on the tickets...." - so come on over next week to get your "first dibs" on the tickets! "...That'll ensure that the shows will be full of enthusiastic, well, enthusiasts and it'll all look great on TV when it's shown." - Shown on TV? Wahoo! BSP on TV!  So, you know what to do, keep coming back for all the latest news on these fantastic shows, you could also visit Q4music.com for info too so that's about that, g'bye for now!

Tuesday 19th March 2002
Evening Session
The Evening Session starts at 8:00pm GMT, for those who live abroad, you can listen to it too! The time is now 7:30pm here in England so put it this way, the evening session on BBC Radio 1 will start in 30mins. Just go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1 , it'll have a box at the top of the page titled 'On Air' and will have a pic of Lamacq so just go through all the instructions and you can listen to it. He'll play either 'The Lonely' or 'The Spirit Of St. Louis', depends which one he likes best. I like 'The Lonely' most but I have a feeling he'll play 'The Spirit...' Wait and see, just make sure you listen out.

Monday 18th March 2002
Songs
'A Little Electricity' is in fact called 'Childhood Memories' and the lyric to the first line is different from the version I had, so is the first line of 'No Red Indian', everything's now been changed on the lyrics page.
Amsterdam Articles
Plenty of new articles concerning BSP at the London Calling festival have been added. Gig reviews in the gig reviews section only and an interview in the articles section.
I'll remind you, the 15th's performance has been archived and can be listened to here, this will be put in the audio/video section when that's up next week.
Another thing is that the articles section may have a name change soon to something like press as I may start adding any radio and TV appearances (which have a little bit on the gigs page for now as 'Appearances')
XFM Session
The 3 tracks used were 'Fear Of Drowning', 'The Spirit Of St. Louis' and 'Childhood Memories', don't know when they'll be broadcast yet. Remember the Evening Session tomorrow, BSP will appear, time unknown.
Some info about the video for the single (by Woody)
The single video is for TSOSL and is going to be edited tomorrow. It should look good. We put loads of trees in our front room and set up everything like we would at a gig, then we got the smoke machine going and some lights and just played the song a few times. Works out that the video has cost about £60 to make so far which isn't bad, especially if we get it played on MTV.

Another 16/03/02 Paradiso Update : 19:30
Webcast's started, go now boys and girls! BSP on stage at 20:45.
Yesterday they performed because Electric Soft Parade couldn't play (I think that was the reason) so BSP replaced them in that slot.
The track order from last nights performance was :
A Wooden Horse, Fear Of Drowning, Remember Me, A Little Electricity, The Spirit Of St. Louis, a short instrumental and Lately. Whether they'll play the same songs tonight I really don't know. As mentioned below, that show can be listened to here
To listen to tonight's webcast click here and it'll pop up straight away.
Anyone know how to put the webcast on CD, wav or mp3 in any way, contact me!

16/03/02 Paradiso Update : 18:45
Last nights BSP performance is online. Click here and it should automatically pop up. I'll post the track order after I've finished listening! So far it's been 'A Wooden Horse' followed by 'Fear Of Drowning'

Saturday 16th March 2002
Right, British Sea Power are currently in Holland playing in London Calling at the Paradiso, Amsterdam. Thanks to a message board post I now know of a good website covering it all. Go here to keep up to date with everything, it's very good and keeps you up to date with everything albeit in Dutch but you easily get the jist of things.
BSP played last night and I think they reviewed it on that site giving them 5 out of 5 by the looks of it. There's also an interview with Yan possibly featuring his girlfriend Jo, I'm not really sure. It was all in Dutch.
Also, the best thing is from 7:30 tonight (in Dutch time, can't be too different to UK time, possibly a lot different to US time) there will be an audio webcast so you can listen to London Calling (there probably was one yesterday but I don't know) BSP will be on stage at 8:45pm in Dutch time so listen out for them. You probably have to listen from the start, I don't have a clue how webcasts work, you'd be best off being there for the 7:30pm start time though.
I'll put the review and interview up later on. I'll be back later to remind you of the webcast again too.
Last thing, I have reason to believe they will be archiving the webcast so it won't be all that bad if you miss it.

Thursday 14th March 2002
Evening Session!
At last I have definite news. On Tuesday 19th March Steve Lamacq will play 'Spirit Of St. Louis' or 'The Lonely' (depends which one he likes most) No news on whether they'll also have an iterview or something but he'll definitely play a track so listen out! The time is unknown as yet.
XFM Session
They'll be doing the XFM session today, don't know when it's broadcast yet though
New Interview
There's a new interview with Noble by Oliver Basciano at The Brainfarm, its a good one and I'll add it to the articles page with full URL later as it's so early. For now just go to the site and you should find it easily.

Wednesday 13th March 2002
Uncut
It seems BSP will be in the next Uncut magazine, not this month's which has just been released (The Police cover) where they will have an interview and 'A Wooden Horse' will be featured on the cover mounted CD
Other Info
BSP yet again didn't feature on the Evening Session last night and they're not in the new NME. Tomorrow they will do an XFM session though. They will do 3 tracks, 'Fear Of Drowning' and 2 others. Don't know when this will be broadcast, maybe yet again near the time of the single release when it seems they'll be quite a lot of press/radio attention.
Amsterdam/Album Recording
The band will leave on Friday to take part in the London Calling festival at the Paradiso, Amsterdam. As soon as they get back from there they will be spending 10 days in the studio with Mads Bjerke to record 'Lately' and another 2 songs.
Site problems over
The site's ok now after a couple of scares! All updates have been added and the FTP's working but I still think it's the lack of webspace (I've now created more by deleting crap from old sites) in which case it could happen again at some time, we'll see.
The updates have been some great Oxford live pics (from the 7th), new articles and also some new lyrics.

Tuesday 12th March 2002
Grrrrr....
Unfortunately the FTP misbehaved last night and only uploaded this page then it went completely dodgy leaving many articles and gig updates out, I'll have them up by tonight (I say this before trying to upload!)
Evening Session
You know the score! Maybe tonight...!

Monday 11th March 2002
Tour dates confirmed
The dates I put on yesterday for the Six By Seven tour were correct so I'll add them to the gigs page now.
New material!
The last of the 'In Print' articles have now been added, all in black and white. So go look now! Also, a picture from one of those articles has been added to the pictures page.
So thats sped things up a bit but there's still loads more to do. Go look at the message on the site info page to see what I've got left.

Friday 8th March 2002
Essential Festival
I made a mistake, the Essential Festival is in Bristol, not Brighton. Sorry about that one!
There's an official site @ http://www.essentialfestival.com and of the 3 days (4th,5th,6th May) British Sea Power will play on the indie/rock day on Sunday 5th May 2002 in the Sleazenation arena. The festival is staged at Ashton Court in Bristol.
Tour Over
The tour has now finished. According to Noble the last dates went very well and there was good response even though Hamilton threw his bass in the air and it hit him on the head cutting it open in Northampton. Pics from the tour on the site soon.
Shepherds Bush Empire gig
The Shepherds Bush gig has now been confirmed. It will be on 1st May as part of a new bands gig for Q magazine. The band will be alongside The Cooper Temple Clause, The Electric Soft Parade and Minuteman.
New tour!
It's just go go go for BSP at the moment as they embark on another tour next month supporting Six By Seven. this time around, whos new album is out on Monday 11th March..
Not sure, but these could be the dates :
April - 9 Cardiff Barfly, 10 Leicester Charlotte, 11 Cambridge Boat Race, 12 Oxford Zodiac, 13 Leeds Cockpit, 14 Glasgow King Tuts, 15 Manchester University, 17 Nottingham Rock City, 18 London ULU.
Definite news on that soon.
Video
Final news of the day is that the band are shooting a video. They'll be making the low budget (but high quality) production over the weekend. More news on that soon too, maybe later.

Thursday 7th March 2002
Essential Festival
BSP are to play at the Essential Festival in Brighton at the end of April, no definite date yet.
Dublin gig
The Dublin gig planned for the 9th March has been postponed for a later date
